Primus®

Primus® answers the issue of integrating a higher level of security and key control on a door by door basis. The Primus key is designed to operate both standard Schlage as well as Primus keyways. With one system you can have Key Control for your Higher Risk Doors (Perimeter, Computer Rooms etc.) while avoiding the cost of upgrading less important doors (closets, interior offices etc.)

EverestTM  Patented Key Control

Everest keyways and key blanks are protected by a utility patent. Restricted blanks, cut keys and cores are furnished only through authorized Schlage distributors.. Restricted items are drop shipped directly to the end-user or designated location, preventing locksmiths and distributors from having access to keys and cores without the end-user’s permission. In addition, Schlage Authorized Service Centers have an exclusive keyway that is controlled by them. Perfect for Schools, universities, hospitals, industrial sites, office and commercial buildings, and wherever key control is a priority.

Conventional Cylinders

Conventional Cylinders are the most common type. In order to service or rekey  the cylinder, it must be completely removed from the lock. Removal of the cylinders from the lock normally requires tools and some degree of lock disassembly,

Interchangeable cores

Cores can be installed or removed from cylinder housing with use of a "Control Key". Cores can be "interchanged" from any type of cylinder housing using the same format (Shape and size of opening in housing)

Small Format Interchangeable Core

While there are several different size cores used by different manufacturers, the "Small Format" size core is very common and can be interchanged without changing existing hardware. Manufacturers that make SFIC cores include Best, KeyMark, Everest, Arrow, Falcon, Videx

Non-SFIC include: Medeco, Yale, Schlage, Sargent, Corbin Russwin, Primus
