LIFT-MASTER Wireless Keyless Entry – 66LM & 740

OPERATION & FEATURES

  • Operating Code must be 4 Digits (the same digit may be used more than once. i.e. 1233)
  • There are 10,000 possible combinations.
  • Opener activates after pressing the 4-digit code, followed by the “ENTER” button.
  • If wrong buttons are pressed, correction can be made immediately. The “ENTER” button will only transmit the last 4 digits pressed
  • The keypad will blink for 15 seconds after the code is transmitted. Pressing the “Enter” button during this time will STOP or REVERSE the doors travel
  • The keypad will activate the opener even if the “Door Control Lock Switch” or “Vacation Switch” are on

SETTING/CHANGING THE CODE

(please read the warning and precautions before starting)

  • On the motor unit, press and release the “Learn” button (normally located on the rear side). The LED near the learn button will light for 30 seconds. BEWARE, be sure to “press and release” the learn button, holding the learn button pressed in, will erase all remote/transmitting devices that are already programmed into unit.
  • Within 30 seconds, on the keypad, press in your new 4-digit code. Then Press and HOLD the “ENTER” button.
  • When the lights on the motor unit blink, you may release the “ENTER” button. NOTE: If the light bulbs have not been installed, or are not working, you will two clicks indicating the procedure is complete
  • Be sure NOT to be standing directly in the doors travel when testing your new code

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from a moving garage door

  • ALWAYS keep remote controls out of reach of children
  • NEVER permit children to operate, or play with remote control transmitters
  • ONLY activate the garage when it can be clearly seen, to ensure there are no obstructions in the doors travel path
  • ALWAYS keep door in-sight until it has fully completed it’s travel and has come to a full stop.
  • NEVER permit anyone to cross path of moving door
  • Be sure your door is properly adjusted. This will increase your personal safety and extend the life of your opener
  • NEVER allow small children near batteries
  • If battery is swallowed, immediately notify the doctor

BATTERY INFORMATION & REPLACEMENT

Information

  • The keypad uses a 12 volt battery
  • The battery compartment is located inside the cover, just below the “ENTER” button
  • Be sure to observe polarity when installing the battery (it DOES make a difference which way you install it)

Replacement

  • Open/lift the keypad cover
  • Remove the screw holding the battery compartment cover
  • Remove battery, observe the polarity
  • Install new battery observing polarity
  • Replace compartment cover and refasten screw
  • Close keypad cover
  • Do not stand in doors travel path when testing

YOU MAY NEED TO RESET THE 4-DIGIT CODE AFTER REPLACING BATTERY
